Welcome to Plathville season 5 premiered on September 5, 2023, after a short hiatus. However, the premiere episode has already provided insight into the drama fans should expect in the season. One of the main talking points from the premiere episode is Moriah Plath’s decision to leave brother Ethan Plath’s apartment.
Moriah had been sharing the apartment with Ethan, his wife Olivia, and Nathan. The four had been living like a separate family since moving in together. During this time, the four became fan favorites, especially Nathan, who fans loved due to his supportive behavior. However, this new development will significantly impact their relationships, which will unfold as the season progresses.
Nathan Meggs Is Olivia Plath’s Brother
Nathan is Olivia’s younger brother. He is one of Olivia’s nine siblings and the fourth son of the Meggs family. Besides him, Olivia has seven other living siblings: Elijah, Joshua, Elise, Lydia, Sophia, Carris, and Kristen. The family recently lost their brother Micah in an auto accident. When fans met Nathan in Welcome to Plathville season 4, he had just graduated and turned 18. After spending most of his life living with his parents, Nathan moved in with Olivia and Ethan after the married duo moved to Tampa. Although Nathan isn’t a member of the Plath family, his upbringing was similar to theirs. The Meggs’ kids grew up in a conservative home, which involved homeschooling and adopting stricter beliefs. According to Olivia, “Our lives changed pretty drastically. We moved to the neighborhood to a farm, and we became farm kids and pastor’s kids.” Meanwhile, Nathan’s upbringing is reflected in his behavior on the show, as he’s often off by himself and only appears occasionally on-screen.
Nathan Meggs Was Arrested For A DUI
After fans met Nathan on Welcome to Plathville, he quickly became a fan favorite due to his supportive and friendly personality. However, on March 11, 2022, Nathan got in trouble after he was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Nathan had attended Ethan’s younger brother Micah’s birthday on March 10, when he supposedly got drunk. However, at 1:23 a.m. the next day, police found him at a gas station, nearly unconscious while his car was running.
Nathan was just 18 at the time of his arrest, and his bond was set at $500.00. On March 30, 2022, Nathan pled “not guilty” before changing his plea to a “no contest” on August 1, 2022. Afterward, Nathan’s DUI charges were reduced from a DUI to reckless driving. Nonetheless, Nathan has remained low-key since then, avoiding more trouble. However, Welcome to Plathville fans will hope to see more of Nathan as the season progresses.
