Young Sheldon’s George Cooper Actor Open to Return in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage

The Big Bang Theory prequel serie young sheldon  ended on a sour note, wrapping up after the death of the Cooper family patriarch. However, while the George Cooper character was killed off in Young Sheldon, there’s a chance he could still appear in the show’s new sequel series, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.

Set to debut on Oct. 17, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage will primarily follow Georgie (Montana Jordan) and Mandy (Emily Osment), though other Young Sheldon stars will be making guest appearances. Given George’s death, it may not seem likely that the character will be popping up in the new series, though there may be creative ways of bringing him back. While speaking to…about the possibility of appearing in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, actor Lance Barber said he’d be flattered if he was given the call to return. Confirming he’s open to the idea, Barber clarified that it would have to be done in a meaningful way, as he wouldn’t be interested in a cheap “stunt” with George’s ghost showing up.

At least three actors from The Big Bang Theory will reportedly return for the Max spinoff, hinting at the possible plot.

“I’d be open to getting the offer, that would be so flattering,” he said. “If they figure out a way to do it that wasn’t diminishing what they’ve already established. If the writers decided to do that, they would do that in a thoughtful and classy way as opposed to a stunt to get people to watch the ghost of George Cooper return. If that could be done, then I would consider it. Otherwise, I’m really satisfied.”

The George Cooper character will be acknowledged in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, as a sneak peek photo revealed a look at… Barber further commented on how the new spinoff will keep George around in spirit, noting how he’s happy that his character will still have a presence of sorts even if the actor himself does not physically appear.

Young Sheldon’s viewers know that the series is building to George’s tragic affair, but Georgie and Mandy’s situation might be even worse.

“The way that George lives on in the show… I like the idea that that’s where the legacy ends for him. He lives on and people talk about him,” Barber said. “We all hope for that in our real life – that we continue to live through the memories of our family and those who loved us.”

Young Sheldon Stars Will Appear in the Spinoff

Along with Montana Jordan and Emily Osment as the leads, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage also stars… The first two episodes of the new spinoff will be featuring …Zoe Perry, Annie Potts, and Raegan Revord, as they will be reprising their respective roles as Mary, Meemaw, and Missy. A return for Iain Armitage as Sheldon has not been confirmed at this time but seems likely for a holiday-themed episode.
