Should Sheldon and Mary have bigger roles in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage?

Iain Armitage and Zoe Perry recently had a heartwarming reunion, and longtime Big Bang Theory fans have lamented that neither Sheldon nor Mary have had bigger roles in the Young Sheldon sequel show Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, with the former in particular yet to even make an appearance. Personally, I think the creative team have made the right choice by avoiding having Sheldon involved, as it would not only undermine his story, now studying at Caltech, but I also don’t necessarily think having that character back in a live-studio format would be all that interesting. That said, Mary’s smaller role doesn’t make as much sense considering the titular couple are not only still in the area, but Georgie is still often seen visiting his father’s grave, and Mary is seen still in a deep sense of grief, and should therefore be a bigger part of her family’s lives, extended or otherwise.
