Everything to Know About Big Bang Theory’s Stuart-Focused Spinoff

We’re now hurtling toward our third new spin-off series of the megapopular CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory.  First came the prequel young sheldon which let us peek into Sheldon Cooper’s early years in the late ’80s and early ’90s and concluded in 2024 after seven seasons. The main cast of the series — Sussman,… in Los Angeles at the end of March to do table reads of the episode scripts and workshop them with Lorre and writers Zak Penn and Bill Prady. We haven’t had any news since then, and in a chat with…Warner Bros Television boss Channing Dungey indicated that’s because the writing team is still fine-tuning the scripts.

“Chuck, Zak, and Bill are hard at work writing stuff,” Dungey said. “We’ve seen some material at the studio, and we’ve had some creative conversations with Max, so we are hopeful for good news soon.”

Dungey also discussed the possibility of having members of the main Big Bang Theory cast show up: “I would never say never. We’re very excited and focused on our series regulars who have great stuff to do in these episodes.” Meaning the early episodes they currently have scripts for are probably focused squarely on the main cast of this show, and if they do appearances by Big Bang Theory folks it will happen later.

Stuart Fails to Save the Universe expected premiere date

Whoa, whoa, whoa! The series isn’t even official yet. Since it is still in development, the premiere is nowhere close to appearing on the horizon. But unlike all the other Big Bang Theory shows, which have aired on CBS, Stuart Fails to Save the Universe is planned for streaming on Max, which means it doesn’t have any need to worry about fitting in with the fall TV schedule or any of the logistical stuff they have to deal with on network television. The Stuart show could premiere any time of year — just probably not this year.

The spin-off series is being developed by network sitcom guru…(shocking!), Big Bang Theory co-creator … and X-Men: The Last Stand writer…reports that in addition to Sussman in the title role, Warner Bros. has holding deals with…— who was introduced as Stuart’s girlfriend Denise in Season 12 of The Big Bang Theory —… who played the CalTech physicists Bert Kibbler and Barry Kripke on the original series.

What will Stuart Fails to Save the Universe be about?

We’ve got no official or unofficial word about the story focus, but on The Big Bang Theory, Stuart owned the comic book shop that the main characters frequented. It’s likely that the iconic location will be at the center of this new series, since its owner’s name is in the title of the show. The inclusion of Posehn and Bowie in the cast would seem to confirm this, since their characters work at CalTech, and the comic book shop is located next to it. So there’s little reason to expect a major change of scenery.
