The Big Bang Theory star reveals return hopes ahead of new spin-off

Actress Mayim Bialik has expressed her interest in appearing in the latest spin-off series from The Big Bang Theory.

The 49-year-old actress, who portrayed neuroscientist Amy Farrah Fowler in the CBS sitcom, admitted she wasn’t done with playing in the show’s universe just yet.

The Big Bang Theory has already spawned the wildly successful Young Sheldon and Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, which launched in the Fall TV season last year.

The latest Big Bang spin-off in the works focuses on comic book store owner Stuart Bloom (played by Kevin Sussman).

In a recent interview, actress Bialik was asked about returning to her Big Bang role, which earned her a slew of accolades and award nominations.

Bialik told TV Line: “I would 100 percent reprise Amy.” She added to the outlet: “I have no qualms about that. I think it would be fantastic.”

For now though, the star said she was yet to get the call for the upcoming series.

The Jeopardy! host has previously made appearances as scientist Amy in Young Sheldon, which followed the young incarnation (Iain Armitage) of scientist Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons).

She made three appearances across Young Sheldon, including the series finale in which audiences saw an aged Amy and Sheldon.

In a touching and hilarious scene, Amy read some of her husband’s memoir and pointed out his hyperbole.

Although Bialik is more than happy to return to the franchise, her co-star Parsons has been more reticent about any future involvement.

“As we sit here now, no. But also I never say never to anything, because life just changes so much,” Parsons, 51, previously told Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace? when asked about donning the mantle of Sheldon again.

Along with Stuart, the potential new Big Bang spin-off would also feature the veteran characters Denise (Lauren Lapkus) and Ben Kibbler (Brian Posehn).

In The Big Bang Theory, the comic book store gained popularity over time with Stuart hiring Denise as his assistant manager.

Denise’s comic book knowledge proved to be a threat to Amy as Sheldon was drawn to her.

Amy ended up telling Denise to teach her about comics, so she could feign an interest for Sheldon.
