The undergraduate student from Barrington, I.L. faced off against Rachael Gray, a graduate student from Cuyahoga Falls, O.H. and one-day champion Steven Hoying, an attorney-at-law from Hilliard, O.H. on Friday, April 18. Liam played well as he maintained a second place lead from Rachael in the first round and then took the top spot in Double Jeopard he had $19,600 to Rachael’s $16,200 and Steven’s $13,800.
Liam ended up taking the crown from one-day champ Steven as he wagered a hefty $12,801 to his total, taking him to $32,401 following his correct answer at Final Jeopardy!. Liam is now the new one-day champion and while fans were impressed by his gameplay, they all could not stop talking about him looking like The Big Bang Theory …Sheldon.
They went on X formerly Twitter to discuss and one fan wrote: “Liam looks like a real life Sheldon Cooper.” A second fan said: “Big time Sheldon Cooper vibes from Liam.” Another said: “I never doubted teenage Sheldon for a minute! Congrats Liam.”
A fourth fan said “Liam looks like Sheldon Cooper’s little brother. A fifth wrote, referring to the actor who portrayed Sheldon: “Liam on #Jeopardy looks like he could be Jim Parsons’ much younger brother.”
The Big Bang Theory ran on CBS for 12 seasons from 2007–2019. The show followed the lives of the five main characters living in Pasadena, C.A.
Theoretical physicist Sheldon (Jim Parsons) was one of the protagonist, along with his physicist roommate Leonard Hofstadter (Johnny Galecki) with their neighbor Penny (Kaley Cuoco), a waitress and aspiring actress. The other two protagonists where Howard Wolowitz (Simon Helberg) and Rajesh Koothrappali (Kunal Nayyar), who were friends and coworkers of Sheldon and Leonard.
As the show continued, the cast crew with supporting characters getting promoted to mains such as neuroscientist Amy Farrah Fowler (Mayim Bialik), microbiologist Bernadette Rostenkowski (Melissa Rauch), and comic book store owner Stuart Bloom (Kevin Sussman).
The Big Bang Theory went on to have a spinoff show called Young Sheldon, which centered on child Sheldon, his family and their life in East Texas during the the late 1980s to mid-1990s. Iain Armitage starred as Sheldon and the rest of the cast included Zoe Perry, Lance Barber, Montana Jordan, Raegan Revord, and Annie Potts.
